1960 - On September 1st, the first 200 students started training in three fields: aircrafts production, aircraft engines, and systems for automated aircraft management. E. N. Kapustyansky was appointed as the director of the higher technical school.

1961 - The first training laboratory building was established (currently building “A”).

1962 - The first scientific research was launched in departments of the University. The Boards of Academics and Scientific Students Chapters were founded at the University.

1963 - The first training laboratories of chemistry, physics, theoretical mechanics, resistance of materials, hydraulics, thermodynamics, electrical engineering, and metallurgy were established.

1966 - The first 149 graduates of the University began to work at enterprises in the Krasnoyarsk territory.

1968 - A.G. Pavlov became the rector of the University.

1971 - A graduate of the University, A. Yu. Soshnikov, defended his thesis and became a candidate of technical sciences.

1972 - The Students Construction Office on Hang Glider Development was established. The main constructor of the CO of applied mechanics, M.F. Reshetnev, began to work as a professor in the department of aircraft.

1976 - V. N. Sevastyanov became the rector of the University.

1977 - The school of physical, mathematical, and technical knowledge was established for students of Krasnoyarsk schools.

1979 - The Computation Center was established. A student of the Mechanical Faculty, Sergey Lomanov, who had become a multiple Russian Hockey Champion of the world by that time, obtained the rank of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.

1980 - V. M. Osipov became the rector of the University.

1981 - A year of sports achievements! Five students of the University obtained the international rank of Master of Sports, one of whom obtained the rank of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, 10 students became Masters of Sports, 7 students became Candidate Masters of the USSR.

1983 - One of the first graduates of the University, G. P. Belyakov, became the rector of the University.

1985 - Agreements on creative cooperation with the best higher schools in the country were concluded. The first doctor of sciences among the graduates of the University was N. B. Kobelev.

1986 - The Students Construction Office was officially confirmed as a sub-department of the University. Motorized hang gliders, developed in the pilot plant, were used for chemical processing in agriculture.

1987 - Humanities education was begun at the University.

The Training Center for Computer Science was established and became the first such center in the city.

1988 - The School of Cosmonautics - a boarding school with space specialization - was established in the city of Zelenogorsk with the help of SibSAU. The Small Faculty of Сosmonautics was established in Zheleznogorsk. 120 students were enrolled. At some Krasnoyarsk schools, classes related to avia-construction, radio electronics, and computer science were designed and organized.

1989 - According to the decree of the Ministry of the University, the subsidiary of Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute became an independent higher school: the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Space Technology (KIST).

1990 - The first volume of the University’s newspaper, named Horizon, was issued. KIST joined the association of engineering higher educational schools of Russia. The rocket firing area “Ustanovo” was established.

1991 - Student scholarships named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky, Yu.A. Gagarin, S. P. Korolev, and N. A. Pilyugin were established at the University.

1992 - KIST was reformed into Siberian Aerospace Academy. The Student Union was established. It was the first year when students of the University were sent to study abroad at the University of Michigan. The Siberian Research Center of Electron-Beam Technologies was established within the Academy as a Research Institute.

1993 - The Aerospace Lyceum was established. The educational aviation, technical base, and aerodrome were established. A decree of cooperation with Ulm Special Higher School was concluded. Students had practical training at the Huntsville Space Center. The Academy was awarded the diploma of the Cosmonautics Federation and the medal “Russia is the Motherland of Cosmonautics.”

1994 - The first American students came to the Academy to study in the department of systems analysis and operations research.

1995 - The student team KVN “In the key whole” won in the Territory Festival “KVN on the river Yenisey.” The Academy took part in an International Project (TACIS), working on the “Refresher Courses for Engineers in the Field of Management and Business.”

1996 - The Academy was officially named after M. F. Reshetnev. The International Institute of Theoretical and Applied Physics, established by the Iowa State University and UNESCO, was founded in the Academy.

1997 - The Inter-university Training Complex in Zheleznogorsk was established.

1998 - According to the Presidential Program on the training of managerial staff, a Consortium of the “Moscow Aviation Institute – Siberian Aerospace Academy” was established.

1999 - The Siberian Science-Based Center for Air Traffic Management was established. The First All-Russia Conference, called “Reshetnev’s Readings,” was held.

2002 - The Academy was renamed the Siberian State Aerospace University (SibSAU).

2003 - For the first time in the history of higher schools of Russia, the visiting sessions of the Cosmonautics Federation, with participation of 9 pilot-cosmonauts in the field of rocket technology and cosmonautics, were held at the Siberian State Aerospace University.

2004 - The University became a member of the European Council for Business Education. The anthem for SibSAU was composed. The project “Space Odysseus” was begun. Twenty-five students experienced the life of a cosmonaut beginning with selection and ending with virtual flight in the Training Center of Cosmonauts.

2005 - The students observed the launch of the Spacecraft “Soyuz-TMA-6” at Information Satellite Systems Enterprise. “Vestnik of SibSAU” was listed as one of the leading reviewed scientific journals. “Baykonur” was opened at the Aerospace School. Krasmash State Enterprise established scholarships for the best students.

2006 - The competitive selection of students for the Students Cosmonautics Detachment began. The quality assurance system was confirmed. An agreement on a strategic partnership between SibSAU and the Krasnoyarsk Research Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science was concluded. The Federal Space Agency gave the University a license for space activities.

2007 - Four University Programs were certified by the EU in Business Education. The starting project was “Students’ Small Aircraft.”

2008 - The Aerospace College was established. The Students’ Space Mission Control Center of Small Space Vehicles was established. The scientific and training center, “Institute of Space Research and High Technologies,” was established. The Device “Radiation Ecology,” which later was launched into space, was invented by students under command of the specialists of PJSC “ISS.” The anthem of the University was transmitted from orbit by the satellite “Yubileyniy”. University students won 42 medals in underwater swimming at the World Cup in Egypt.

2009 - The Center of Space Exploration was established. The first East of the Ural Mountains Resource Center, “Spacecrafts and systems,” was established at the University. The Foreign Languages Resource Center was established with support from Mikhail Prokhorov’s Fund. The observatory of SibSAU was officially registered at the International Center of Small Planets at Harvard University in the U.S.A.

2010 - The university celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Space Rocket Monument depicting a genuine “Kosmos 3M” Carrier Rocket was established at the University square to commemorate the 45th anniversary of SibSAU.

2011 - Professor Igor Kovalev was elected as a new rector of SibSAU.

2015 - 55th Anniversary of SibSAU.

2016 - SibSAU merged with the Siberian State Technological University and was awarded a new status of the Flagship University of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

2017 - SibSAU was renamed into the Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology.

The Scientific Library opens the way to the world of knowledge, scientific facts, inventions, and human wisdom. The Library is a primary resource for obtaining a wide range of information, whether it is found in ancient folios or electronic libraries.

The Scientific Library of the Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology has successfully kept pace with the University for more than 50 years. The library was founded in 1960 together with the University. At that time, the collection numbered 2 000 editions. Two hundred users were served by two employees. At present, it is one of the biggest libraries in the city of Krasnoyarsk. Its main aim is to provide information for training and scientific activities at the University as well as the formation and effective use of information resources. The Library contains around 2 000 000 items, and its annual additions are about 50,000 items. The Library serves more than 20 000 users, including students, postgraduates, instructors, and scientific researchers of the University and its subsidiaries as well as workers in the basic enterprises.

The pride of the Library is an invaluable collection of rare books on aviation, cosmonautics, rocket equipment, and machine building. The Library subscribes to more than 800 periodicals annually.

The Library meets the needs of all types of users engaged in scientific work. It is a data base of bibliographical documents, and teaches library users to operate its search system and to look for information in electronic libraries.

A feature of the Library’s development is the active adoption of new information technologies. The access to information resources on the basis of modern technologies provides remote users with full-text resources and electronic libraries. Logical organization and use of electronic resources has become the main activities of the Library.

The professional activity of the library is diverse. Its distinctiveness is in serving the practices that are close to the University’s activities. The Library is the center of cultural, spiritual, and intellectual communication for students and instructors.

One of the important measures of the Library’s status is the performance of the Library staff in various events: conferences, seminars, and roundtables concerning problems of library theory and practice.

The Library’s core staff is a group of creative and highly-skilled specialists who assure the Library’s success.

 Flagship University of Krasnoyarsk region is a large-scale project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the government of the region to improve the training level of qualified personnel to implement the potential of the Krasnoyarsk region in the space industry and the development of high-tech industries in the region. The University was established in May 2016 by merging of Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University and Siberian State Technological University.
