Today the University enrolls about 19 000 students. A multi-level system of training at Reshetnev University gives students new opportunities for advancement of their knowledge and trains them to be high-level professionals, specialists, and researchers in various areas of science and technology.

Education at Reshetnev University is carried out by 599 professors with doctors of sciences with candidates of sciences. The educational process is implemented by the Aerospace College, 2 University subsidiaries, 10 institutes and 8 faculties.

The University was founded as a unique higher educational institution where theoretical training is combined with practice in hi-tech enterprises from the very beginning of study. This tradition has been maintained throughout Reshetnev University’s history. Not only are students educated in university classrooms but also in scientific laboratories, workshops, and departments of affiliated enterprises. The Russian Academy of Sciences oversees the University’s activities and its educational and research programs.

Constant improvement of the educational process, the implementation of modern educational technologies, and competitive approaches provide for the dynamic development of the University. The University also focuses on in-depth language training – the English language is studied by students of all specialties and areas throughout their studies.

Over its many years, Reshetnev University has employed an innovative strategy which has fostered the evolution of the University as a leading space research university with an infrastructure for education and training, scientific and technical research, and industrial activities. The University, which started with a narrow focus, now offers a broad range of educational opportunities in engineering, science, and the humanities.

Admission to Russian universities is open. Here is some information on the application process to study in Russia.

To get in contact with the university you may send documents by e-mail to the university Department of International Cooperation. An application package consists of the application form (personal data), copies of documents describing previous education (both certificate/diploma and transcript/marksheet) and a copy of your passport. As a rule, decision making takes not more than 7-10 days.

If the application is approved, the university shall initiate the process for issuing of the state invitation letter. The document is to be released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The process requires at least 3-4 weeks. The original invitation letter (as well as confirmation of admission) are required when applying for a Russian student visa. The applicant should pay for express mail service to receive the documents with no delay.

Application for a visa may take a couple of weeks. Thus, the application process as a rule takes up to 1,5-2 months in total.

Pre-university programs (study of the language and core subjects) start within the time period September – November (depends on the university and the subject).

(Under)Graduate programs start in September.

Postgraduate programs start in October – November.

Study is available in the Russian language.

Throughout its history Reshetnev University has established and maintains international relationships with more than fifty universities in over twenty-five countries around the world. The main focus of our international cooperation is on long-term projects aimed at making academic and research activities that meet world standards and concern issues of global significance in both technical and humanitarian areas.

Within the framework of an international cooperation program our University and its research group carries out the following activities:

  • Joint academic programs development
  • Double-degree programs


Academic Cooperation

The objective of international academic cooperation is the realization of mutually beneficial programs of academic exchange and joint projects. The aim of Reshetnev University is to have an average of 10% of international students either conducting a research here or being an exchange or actual students of a degree program. We also encourage students of Reshetnev University to participate in different programs of student mobility, such as scholarships for alumnus of Reshetnev University to get a Degree at a foreign university; winter and summer school programs; language courses; internship programs and exchange education in overseas universities. Each year, students of Reshetnev University take courses, volunteer, work and conduct research in over 50 countries around the globe.

Every year more than 50 foreign students come to Reshetnev University for exchange or for internships. Up to 25-30 students of Reshetnev University each year study abroad as exchange students or for double diplomas.


Most student mobility programs are developed with the European universities in such countries as the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, etc. A lot of students from the CIS are also studying at Reshetnev University. Student exchange and study abroad programs are organized under Reshetnev University bilateral agreements with the following universities and organizations.

Reshetnev University occupies one of the top positions among Siberian institutions of higher learning participating in international academic projects, as well as collaborating with international research centers and industrial companies.. The University takes part in a number of European academic projects, among them: TEMPUS/TASIS, ERASMUS, Fulbright, DAAD and others.


Summary of a few Reshetnev University Projects:

  • Joint project with Neusoft University which allows Reshetnev University students to get dual diplomas with a Bachelor´s degree in Program Engineering of both Reshetnev University and Neusoft University.
  • Erasmus+ project with the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. The project is aimed at realizing teaching, research staff and students exchange and working on master thesis projects and common research activities.
  • Joint project with the University of Eastern Finland for joint research, development and educational cooperation activities, as well as cooperation in cultural exchanges, sports, exhibitions and other activities.
  • EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation, the main objective of the project is to introduce students to new technologies and concepts which are currently in high demand and conduct common research projects between the university students and staff.
