Forthcoming areas of research centers:

1. Spacecraft and satellite communication systems. The area will be developed in creation and output of unique production from polymer composite materials, optimization and modernization of industries and technologies and training of qualified personnel.

2. Information and communication technologies. One of the aims of the area is to improve the process of research activities. The Regional Center of intellectual information-analytical systems will be created for problem solving in data analysis in the following areas: modern information technologies for data analysis and decision-making; digital image and video sequences processing; algorithm and application software development.

3. Electron-beam technologies in machine building. The most important goals in machine building are to improve quality, reliability and durability of details and mechanisms. These goals require creation of new technical equipment and development of progress technologies. Development of the area will allow expanding the range of scientific and technological activities and providing high qualified scientific researches in priority areas.

4. Development of space and electronic instrument engineering. The area will allow university to become the center of engineering of airborne and land-based devices of space and electronic instrument engineering.

5. Control system of small spacecrafts with airborne equipment based on modern electronic components. Modernization of control systems will provide the receipt of work programs and one-time control signals from a ground control station; transfer of telemetry and operational control data; transfer of target information; receipt and transfer of one-time control signals and telemetry between small spacecrafts.

6. Forestry business and forest management (forest monitoring and studies, its usage and recovery; techniques of monitoring and rational use of forest). Remote monitoring methods may solve the problem of forest monitoring. There are next directions which will be developed in the area: researches on patterns of structure and quality of wood; development of forest assessment technologies and urban green spaces using remote-methods and GIS technologies; inventory of forest base of resources, etc.

7. Technologies of complex processing of plant material. There are next directions which will be developed in the area: pulp and paper production process; wood-fibrous panel; technologies and equipment of chemical and biochemical processing of plant biomass into valuable biologically active food and feed products, etc.

8. Chemistry and chemical engineering. It is planned to develop investigations in chemistry and chemical technologies: search and study of new reactions; development of oil processing and oil products technologies; creation of highly effective polymer composite materials, etc.

XVIII International Scientific Conference “RESHETNEV READINGS” is dedicated to the memory of Mikhail Reshetnev, an outstanding scientist, chief-constructor of space-rocket systems and communication satellites.

In 2014 the Conference will be held in November 11-13 in the frame of the International Scientific and Technical Congress “Space and Information Technologies of the XXI Century”.

Plenary sessions, round tables, forums will be attended by famous scientists, developers, designers representing the space technology sector, as well as professionals and experts in IT industry. The Scientific and Training Center “Institute of Space Exploration and High Technologies” was established together with the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science and PJSC “Information Satellite Systems” for the training of specialists in the areas of exploration of natural resources by aerospace means and physics.

The Scientific and Training Center “Space Systems and Technologies” was established together with PJSC “Information Satellite Systems” for the training of elite specialists through project-oriented teaching technologies. The center consists of a pilot plant, a “clean room” for assembling space vehicles and experiments, and laboratories with modern high-precision equipment for assembling space vehicles and experiments.

The Scientific and Training Center “Closed Space Systems” was established together with the Institute of biophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science and the Special Construction Office “Science”. The scientific and engineering work force is trained here. The third generation of the scientific and technological basics of life support systems was developed here within the unique facility BIOS-3.

The Scientific and Training Center “Information Security and Control Systems” was established for realization of innovative projects, training of masters and doctors, organization of traineeship and researches in the development of mathematical, algorithmic and instrumental support for control systems of spacecrafts of the new generation, etc.

The Scientific and Training Center “Rocket and Space Technologies” was established in 2013 with the Krasnoyarsk Machine-building Plant, their integrated training system, research and applications in the field of rocket-space technology.

The Industry Resource Center “Space Vehicles and Systems” was established at Reshetnev University in 2009 with support from Roskosmos. The center realizes innovative products of the university in the area of construction, mechanical processing of details, carrying out of tests on electromagnetic compatibility, development of electronic devices, control and test of electronic components of spacecrafts, manufacturing of constructions from composite materials and specialized instruments, as well as leads the training of teams of specialists for space industry in project-oriented technologies.

Every year, the university holds several international academic conferences and invites distinguished scholars and experts from Common Wealth of Independent States, Europe, America, China and other countries. The foremost mission of the conferences is to produce communication among the participants, discuss various themes in depth, provide interdisciplinary scientific discussions, share current scientific results and develop academic and scientific cooperation.
