Flagship University of Krasnoyarsk region is a large-scale project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the government of the region to improve the training level of qualified personnel to implement the potential of the Krasnoyarsk region in the space industry and the development of high-tech industries in the region. The University was established in May 2016 by merging of Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University and Siberian State Technological University. Flagship University became a center of competences in the field of technical engineering education, a driver of technological and social economic development of the territory. Flagship University trains highly qualified specialists in more than 100 programmes for enterprises of the aviation and space industry, mechanical engineering, forestry, wood processing and chemical industries, scientific and financial organizations, international and Russian business structures, mass media. A distinctive feature of studying at the University is the combination of theoretical and practical classes with the implementation of practical projects at enterprises allowing students to choose a place of future employment from the first years. University has basic partners in educational and scientific projects that open the wide career opportunities for graduates today. They are high-tech enterprises of "ROSCOSMOS" and "ROSATOM" state corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises of the region, residents of the innovation cluster "Technopolis Yenisei" and the Zheleznogorsk Industrial Park TOSER, the largest banks and departmental organizations.
Flagship University places emphasis on the development of skills of technological and social entrepreneurship, innovations commercialization and business development as key competencies of successful engineers of the new generation for students of all specialties.  All the students of the University are given a wide range of opportunities to do research at 20 leading scientific schools, to reveal creative abilities at 50 art studios and to develop sports achievements in more than 25 sections.  Flagship University is a leader of the region in implementation of international cooperation, providing the best students with opportunities to participate in joint programmes with foreign partners from 25 countries of the world, to participate in exchange study, internships, and also get a second diploma at leading universities in Russia and abroad.
