11 students from the Institute of Social Engineering (direction of study “Linguistics”) and the Institute of Management and International Business (“Management”) went to our foreign partner university, Xingtai University (Xingtai, China) to study for one semester under an international exchange program

Reshetnev students began studying at Xingtai University on September 18 and shared with us their first impressions:

- It is extremely interesting to study in an intermediary language; we practice English and at the same time study Chinese. Teachers present their material with situation simulations, presentations, videos and photos. The Chinese accent in English caused a little difficulty, but we have quickly get used to it –  tells us Sofiia

- In terms of studying, I really like that all the questions we have can be discussed in detail during the class. Regarding Chinese, we were worried that it would be very difficult for us, since we did not know the basics, but we were divided into two groups, and ours is learning Chinese from the beginning. I also like physical education classes. The classes include various sports and elements of martial arts. All the teachers and guys are kind, friendly, and are always ready to help us – Anastasia

- While expecting a trip to China, we were afraid that it would be difficult for us to integrate into the society of local students, and it would be difficult to understand the teachers’ speech. But when we arrived here, we were pleasantly surprised by the well-spoken English of the teachers and many of the students! We were welcomed by Xingtai University and introduced to the students, who helps us with all our difficulties. Sure, not everyone here understands English, but because of it we are motivated to learn Chinese as quickly as possible. We have only started, but we can already feel the progress, especially when we can order food without any problems. It’s very cool here, I’m very glad that I had this opportunity!– shares Sofia
